Relationships are great for throwing up contrasts and things that  can feel a bit thorny. Whether they’re relationships with partners, lovers, parents,  children, work colleagues, clients – they are all very juicy and great places to get to really know your true self.

The closer you are to your true self – the easier relationships feel. The further away you are, the thornier, they seem. And if you’re anything like me, at times you can feel as if you have been catapulted way, away from your true self when some kind of old relationship pattern shows. I’ll be going along feeling really great, and then something will happen that will jar with me and I’ll find myself acting in ways I thought I’d left behind me. In some ways, the more time, i spend feeling closer to my true self, the greater the reaction can seem and the more intense my feelings. They seem to be clearer and more direct – and then they’re gone.

What I’ve found, is that my role in any relationship is threefold:

  1. to keep my focus on what I want. How do I want this relationship to be – how do I want to feel in it? How do I want to feel in relation to my child, my lover, my partner, my parent, my clients, my colleagues. When I feel myself focussing on what I’m not liking – guess what? I’ll get more of what I don’t want. When I turn my attention to what I do want, I get more of what I do want. Law of Attraction in action. The quicker, I can my focus back to what I do want, the quicker, I’ll get  what I do want. Sometimes, it can be too hard to do that straight away, so then I’ll go to step 2.
  2. I’ll reach for whatever feels better from where I am. Not for what feels good – for what feels better. Sometimes it feels better to feel angry, or jealous. That doesn’t always necessarily feel good – but it feels better. it’s looking after my own vibration – and I have to be where I am, not where I think I ought to be. I used to get hung up on that a lot – trying to mask my feelings because I thought I should be feeling positive – and I see a lot of other people doing the same. What I’ve learnt, is that the more honest I am with myself about how I feel – even if I don’t like it – the easier it is for me to move through it.  When I really let myself feel it – it can move on. You can do it on your own, or in front of others, whatever feels better to you.It may that it feels better to go for a walk, to pet the cat, to play some music – do whatever feels better to you – only you will know what that is.
  3. Focus on the positive aspects of the person you are having difficulties with. Even if it’s one thing – really appreciate that. If there are more, let them flow, and really feel them. Let the LOVE flow – there is always love, even when you are very powerfully not liking something!! Find the feeling of love wherever you can, and keep your focus there as much as you can. If you drift away from it – don’t beat yourself up (that’s not love!!!) – as soon as you can, get back to some love.

The only thing that you can do in any relationship , is to look after your own vibration and to focus on how you want things to be and the things that are there that you appreciate . There’s nothing else you can do!!

How does that work for you in your relationships?

The Front Garden

I’ve just spent most of the week in the garden – planting 300 bushes and shrubs around the perimeter of our large, exposed, seaside garden. It’s been fabulous for so many reasons:

  • to be moving my body for hours each day – especially after the long winter months when I’ve been on the computer a lot of the time.
  • to be out in the fresh air
  • to have my hands in the earth – as a Taurean, I love the earth and always feel an immediate change when I have my hands in earth.
  • to feel the sun on my back – for most of the week……..
  • …………… and today to feel the soft rain on my face
  • to see the bushes  in the ground and imagine them when they are in full bloom – and all the generations who will see and enjoy them after we’re gone.
  • the beautiful long, hot baths with beautiful bath salts which I’ve really enjoyed deeply, and really felt that I deserved them.
  • the deep sleeps from the great tiredness.

and the great thing is that I’ve also done quite of  coaching, I’ve done other work on my business and I’ve listened to great calls.

Another  really good thing is that things have been flowing to me , whilst I was happily in the garden – money I wasn’t expecting, donations from appreciative readers, offers to work with other people I really like, great comments and feedback. All have come without me thinking about them, because I have been doing what I wanted to do and really enjoying it – and feeling really appreciative for the life that allows me to do it.

That’s the  Law of Attraction in action – when you’re in a good vibe place and just doing the things that feel good to you and are really appreciating everything – you are in an allowing place, and things flow easily to you.

The funny thing is, for a couple of years I haven’t spent as much time in the garden as I like – it’s seemed hard to get there. I can really feel that something has changed now, and I know I’m going to be spending a lot of time there this year. The bushes feel like my babies now, so I have to go and talk to them all the time!!!

What do you love to do that

Your way is the right way.

I had a great day yesterday. I collected seaweed at the beach to put on the garden to grow the spuds. I’v been talking about doing it for a few years but never did – so it feels great to have done it. I can still remember when I moved to Ireland 20 years ago and someone invited me for dinner and gave me some of their home grown potatoes, which they’d fertilised with seaweed – the taste was divine!!! My taste buds still go mad when I think of them.

Anyway, I had an insight about when I was doing it,  I thought I’d share. I was collecting the seaweed with my friend JP, who’s a farmer and much more used to heaving heavy  bags  around than I am. We had great fun bagging up the seaweed and had about 30 bags filled. To get the best, we were doing it at low tide, and were quite a way from where the car was parked.

JP and our seaweed collection

When it came to carrying the bags back up to the car, I could feel my heart sink, as it looked a long way and the bags were heavy. I realised that what felt much better to me was to do it in 3 stages – to take them all up to the tide line, then up to take then all up to the rocks and then up to the car. I felt a sense of achievement each time i got all the bags to each place, I knew I could manage it and none of it felt overwhelming. JP was happy to move the bags in the same way, so we did it together in three stages, chatting as we went, and the time flew.

Someone else might have found that way laborious and felt that it made it much more prolonged and felt really frustrated with it. They’d have preferred to do it all in one go. And I know that it will always feel much more relaxing to me to be with someone who is doing things their way.

Someone else might have come up with a way of doing it that I haven’t even thought of. I might have watched them and thought I’d give their way a try and have found that I prefer it to my own way.

None of it matters – as long as you are doing things the way that feels best to you. We each have our own way and different things that are challenging. Going at your own pace and doing things in your way – being true to yourself, is the most important thing. When you know that you are being yourself, and not someone else’s version of you, or trying to fit into other people’s rhythm, everything gets  much easier.

Oprah and Good Vibrations

Posted by: Christine Jenkins | Comments (0)

Here is a great conversation I just heard for the first time between Oprah and Esther Hicks. It was a long conversation, and this is the last part.

I like it in particular for 2 reasons – firstly, they’re talking about Channelling and how strange that can be for people. I used to feel it was weird too, and still do in some ways, although I absolutely love talking with Paul and the Communion of Light, and find their insights amazing and really helpful. I think I’m at the stage of believing without fully understanding – a very different place than I was even a few years ago.

The second reason I really like it is because in this part, they talk a lot about us as vibrational beings – which is why our thinking effects our reality so much. Have a listen to it – you’ll even get to hear Oprah sing a snatch of Good Vibrations!! I thought that was pretty cool.

One of my favourite poems is “The Journey to Ithaca”. It really teaches and inspires me to enjoy the journey of my life, and not to be always looking into the future – to the big bright shinning things that I think are ahead.

It seems to have been coming up a lot this week in different conversations with people.  The more you can appreciate the things that are in your life now, the higher your vibe will be. There is only the NOW – we all know this, but it’s amazing how little time we spend in the now. I know that a default expression of mine is “I’ll do this and then I’ll  …………………..  (something more enjoyable). As I’m learning to do more of what feels good now, and also as I’m being more and more appreciative of things in the now, I am feeling a greater sense of joy.

What are you enjoying in your journey right now?  What can you find to appreciate, even if things aren’t that great at the moment? I’d love to hear.

ITHACA

When you start on your journey to Ithaca,
then pray that the road is long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.
Do not fear the Lestrygonians (*)
and the Cyclopes and the angry Poseidon.
You will never meet such as these on your path,
if your thoughts remain lofty, if a fine emotion
touches your body and your spirit.
You will never meet the Lestrygonians,
the Cyclopes and the fierce Poseidon,
if you do not carry them within your soul,
if your soul does not raise them up before you.

Then pray that the road is long.
That the summer mornings are many,
that you will enter ports seen for the first time
with such pleasure, with such joy!
Stop at Phoenician markets,
and purchase fine merchandise,
mother-of-pearl and corals, amber and ebony,
and pleasurable perfumes of all kinds,
buy as many pleasurable perfumes as you can;
visit hosts of Egyptian cities,
to learn and learn from those who have knowledge.

Always keep Ithaca fixed in your mind.
to arrive there is your ultimate goal.
But do not hurry the voyage at all.
It is better to let it last for long years;
and even to anchor at the isle when you are old,
rich with all that you have gained on the way,
not expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches.

Ithaca has given you the beautiful voyage.
Without her you would never have taken the road.
But she has nothing more to give you.

And if you find her poor, Ithaca has not defrauded you.
With the great wisdom you have gained, with so much experience,
you must surely have understood by then what Ithaca means.

–  Constantine Cavafy  (translated by Rae Dalven)

(*)  Lestrygonians, Cyclopes and Poseidon are all “monsters,” popular in Greek mythology.  The poet is telling us to not be afraid of these or other imaginary Gremlins.

This subject has been coming up a bit over the last week. What to do if you feel in conflict in relationships – with children, partner, work colleagues, friends  - whoever.

I’m sure we all know the feeling – you start to get stuck into the negatives and all the things that seem to be “wrong” in the relationship. You start an expectation that the things that displease you WILL happen – as we know, thus increasing their chances of happening!!! I remember a friend once describing, how she used to be so angry when she came home from work that her 17 year old daughter hadn’t turned the heating on, so the house would be cold. She could hear herself talking to herself about this on her way home from work – and the first thing she did  when she walked in the door, was to touch the radiator to see if it was hot! Of course, it never was – she was right everytime!!  When I hear that story, I can almost feel how hard it would be for the daughter to put on the heating – when her mother had such a powerful expectation and vibe that the heating wasn’t going to be on!!!!

Of course –  it’s much easier for me to see this so clearly in relation to someone else’s life than it is to my own!!!! Funny that, how we have blind spots about ourselves and our own manifesting of things we “don’t want”!!.

I was listening to Paul and the Communion of Light about relationships the other day and they were talking about bringing your focus to an kind of appreciation if you are having difficulties in a relationship. Sometimes, it can feel like too big a step to appreciate the person that you are having difficulties with  - although this is something that I have heard before, and it can just seem too much. But to bring SOME appreciation into your vibration can really help you to make the shift to where you want to be – and  your motivation in anything is always to feel better, even if that’s not a great feeling.

Anyway, I have found it really helpful to use the appreciation exercise. You start with things around you – anything you can see physically.

So it may be something like this:

:-D  I really appreciate my car – it’s amazing that I can travel so many miles so quickly. It’s so reliable. I just sit in and it starts. It makes it so easy for me to do things – I can bring the dogs for great walks that it would be really hard to get to without the car. I can work in places I wouldn’t be able to work without a car. I can travel with children and friends and go to see shows and other things.  and on and on and on.

:-D  I really appreciate my ipod. It’s amazing that a tiny piece of metal can give to access to wonderful, inspiring talks and people to listen to wherever I am. I can always choose to be inspired. I can listen to music that I want to easily. There is SO  much music out there – isn’t it wonderful that so many people are inspired to make and record such great sounds.

Can you feel the energy shifting already?? I can even as I write it.

Then when the time feels right you can start to shift to people – start with people that it’s easy to appreciate and  really milk what you appreciate about them:

:-D     I really appreciate my friend Lucy. She’s so thoughtful and kind. She’s funny and we always have such a great laugh together. She;s so hospitable, and I feel really at home in her house. I know that I can call her about anything and talk to her. etc, etc.

DO the same with a few more people. From time to time think about the person you are having difficulty with, and see if you can find anything to appreciate about them. If you can great – let the appreciation vibe flow to them. If not – think of someone or something else that you can more easily appreciate.

There’s no rush  or hurry, nowhere to get to. Just bask in appreciation as much as you can, and be open to what happens.

Scripting Your Day

Posted by: Christine Jenkins | Comments (0)

How do your days unfold for you?

Do you feel as if they just happen –  as if you have no control over them? Or do you have to-do-lists which keep growing? Or maybe you have great plans but life keeps sending things to disrupt you.

I find a great tool to keep my days at a high vibe level, is to start the day with 5 minutes scripting. I write mine down in a journal – but you can also say it out loud, or say it in your head if that’s easier for you. You can do it in the shower, walking the dog, or on your way to work. The earlier you do it the better, because it sets your vibration at a higher level to start the day off. If you’re used to doing it one way – in a journal for instance, and don’t have your journal one day – don’t let that stop you – just write it on any piece of paper, or say it for today.

Here are the steps:

1.Connect to your source of Spiritual Connection –  to whoever or whatever, that may be. Do it in the way that feels best for you – light a candle, meditate, say a prayer, offer an invitation.

2. Identify what is up for you today. Be honest with yourself.

How are you feeling? What is bothering you? What do you need help on? What is on your mind right now?

You may have:

  • a difficult conversation looming
  • Financial challenges
  • Health concerns
  • Worries about your family
  • A presentation at work
  • Your car in the garage
  • A concern about a pet
  • etc, etc,

Just identify whatever is there, bring it out into the open and acknowledge its presence.

3. Now Script what you want to experience in your day around the things you’ve just identified.

If other things may come up as you script  just include them in the scripting in the way that feels best.

Script what you’d like to experience and the feelings you want to have as you experience them. Really feel the feelings as you’re writing them, as this will activate the vibration in you. It’s the feelings that you want which are more important than the  specific outcomes. The Universe often has ways of bringing us the feelings we want in more delicious ways than we can even imagine!! So stay open to the fact that you may not know the best way!

Script for small changes in your vibration, rather than great leaps!! If you reach too far beyond where you really are now, you can reinforce what you don’t have. If you move up the scale in smaller steps, you’re much more likely to get there!

For instance if you are feeling really down about the break-up of a relationship, it may feel too far away to script about a great new romance (although that might be what you ultimately want). But if you script about feeling a sense of enjoyment as you go to movie with a friend – that will bring a shift, and be going in the direction that you want to go in.

4. Go about your day – with a consciousness, that you have set up a vibrational call to certain feelings. If any things happen – make a note of them. At the end of the day, I like to review the day, and to note what happened – what evidence there was that my vibration is attracting different experiences. They may be small or big things, but they are all signs. You can write them down, or say them to yourself.

They may be things like:

  • I found the perfect parking space
  • A cheque arrived in the post
  • Someone smiled at me when I ordered in the cafe
  • I found just the right words to say in a difficult conversation
  • I seemed to have so much more time than usual today.
  • A friend I hadn’t heard from for ages  rang out out of the blue
  • I saw an ad in a paper I don’t usually read for my perfect job
  • Someone contacted me about coaching after reading an article I wrote 2 years ago!!

All of these things are signs that things are moving – note them and celebrate them, and you will be sending the signal that you want more of the same.

Have fun with it!!

In  Process #12 of “Ask and It is Given”, Abraham talks through Esther Hicks of  a way to turn something around to a more positive feeling, if you are leaning towards the negative, and feeling some resistance.

He says “When you say, ‘I want this thing to happen that hasn’t happened yet,’ you are not only activating the vibration of your desire, you are also activating a vibration of the absence of your desire – so nothing changes for you. And often, even when you do not speak the second part of the sentence and you say only, ‘I want this to happen,’ there is an unspoken vibration within you that continues to hold you in a state of not allowing our desire.”

He then talks about playing around with things that seem a bit out our reach by coming up with “Wouldn’t it be nice if…………….” sentences. I LOVE this, and find it really helpful, if I am feeling stuck in some way. It has an almost instant affect of lighten up my vibration around things, and opening up a much greater feeling of possibility.

I was inspired to write this post today, because I’m just back from driving my lovely niece to her  first Junior Certificate Exam. There are two weeks of exams for 16  and 18 years olds in Ireland now, and people can get very stressed! My niece doesn’t really enjoy school and that kind of study much, and wasn’t feeling great about going into the exams – she’s much rather be surfing!! So in the car on the way in we played WOULDN’T IT BE NICE IF………….

We came up with some great ones and were laughing having a great time on the journey, so of course, she felt much better going into the exam.

Here are some of the ones we came up with:

Wouldn’t it be nice if:

  • the weather was dull on the exam days and sunny at the weekends
  • if I enjoyed my exams a bit (my suggestion)
  • if I enjoyed them a lot!!!  (her suggestion)
  • if  the questions were just the ones I wanted
  • I could easily remember everything I know
  • if the time went by really quickly
  • if I did better than I thought I could
  • if my revision went really well this afternoon, and I could surf for an hour tonight
  • If every time I felt stuck on a question, I asked God for help and remembered the answer

and more.

Abraham gives suggestions like

“Would it be nice if I stumbled across something that really worked for me.”

“Would it be nice if  I looked like I did in this picture.”

“Wouldn’t it be nice if I discovered this to be much easier than its been before.”

Play around with it and see how you get on, and if you can feel the difference it makes to your vibrational level. Let us know some of your great – “Wouldn’t it be nice ifs…….”

I created a new blog after I watched Michael Moore’s movie about Capitalism. For many years I was active in political campaigns, and was on protests and working hard to change the world, to a fairer, more just world in which all people were honoured and valued. I found myself questioning a lot of things in these movements and in politics. All the anger and the antagonism, and the lack of compassion with others stopped became less appealing, and I looked to develop my spiritual life and left politics.

The words of Thich Naht Hahn made a big impact on me at the time – something like “there will be peace when the peace movement learns to speak with words of peace.” and Ghandhi’s ” be the change you want to see in the world.”

For  nearly 20 years, I’ve done nothing “political”, as I developed my spiritual aspect.  I always had a feeling that at some point things will come together in me, the spiritual and the desire for social change and to do my part to create a more peaceful, caring world.

For several years now, I have been studying and understanding more and more of the Law of Attraction – or Deliberate Creation. When I was watching Micheal Moore’s movie, I felt the desire to do something, but I didn’t want that to involve anger and blame. I had the idea to create this site, so that people can share their vision for the future – a place where rockets of desire can be launched for how we want to create the world of the future.

I’m not planning to write that much. Just to write thoughts whenever they come. What I’d love is for people to write their comments and share ideas and visions so that we can co-create a world where all people and beings are loved, cherished and valued. Share words and pictures, and music that is inspirational, and will be a place to come to when we want to connect with others who share our vision.

This is my start:

“I see the world as wonderful – truly wonderful. I love the variety, the strength, the magnificence. I see such beauty and such strength of spirit. I see such love and compassion, as people help and support each other. There is so much abundance and love everywhere, such harmony and balance. I love the way people are taking responsibility for their own thoughts and are so connected to spirit and the universe. I embrace the contrasts which give me such opportunity for growth, such wealth of experience and  allow me to launch new rockets of desire.”

I’d love it if you wanted to write something – you can write a comment – at http://www.myvisionfortheworld.com , or if you want to contribute and write posts, email me and I’ll set you up as a contributor on the site. I’d love that.

I just wanted to give some feedback about how I got on yesterday after my “out of sorts” start to the day. Well…….as things tend to, it turned out to be a great day!

I spent the first part tuning into my feelings and my body, and just let the energy do what it wanted and just “allowed” it to be whatever it was. I realised that one of the things I was feeling was a bit lonely and isolated, because I’d been lying low for a few days with a cold. It felt good to know that was a trigger to my feelings.

Next, I spent a great hour on self care – listening to a great podcast from one of the Communion of Light talks at Good Vibe U (my favourite place online to hang out when I want inspiration). So, as I body-brushed and plumed and groomed myself, giving great vibes to myself, I listened to a great conversation about Contrasts. Contrasts are when we come up against something that takes us away from our Source, and the good feelings we want to have. My contrast yesterday was a very minor one, sometimes they are much more major – sickness, loss, major disruption. What contrasts do is to launch “rockets of desire” – they help you to get clearer on what you DO WANT, by showing you clearly WHAT YOU DO NOT WANT. So, in the contrast, you can find out how to make your life better – by creating the vision of what you do want, and putting the majority of your focus there, you will get to where you want to go. Everything is waiting for you – your future in vibrational form – your part is to line up vibrationally to receive it. To do that, you have to take your focus away from what is happening now – that is the result of previous vibrational output. Line up with the future you – feel it as it if it is happening now, no matter how far away it seems (it’s much closer than you think) – see and feel  yourself, being, doing, having whatever it is you want. Everything that was ever created or invented started in the imagination.
